South Shores Master Plan Moves Forward

On Tuesday evening, June 2nd, the Dana Point City Council voted by a unanimous vote of 5-0 to approve the South Shores Church Master Plan. This follows a vote in March 2015 by the Planning Commission, who also approved the plan by a unanimous 5-0 vote. With this approval we are able to begin drawing up plans with the architect and move forward in raising the needed funds for the project.

More than 100 members of the South Shores Church family showed up in “Green” T-shirts and offered their support of the project. Speakers from the city, our church staff and professional team and our opponents each made presentations. Following those presentations the City Council members made comment. Each one praised the church and the city staff for their hard work in presenting a great plan. They all agreed there was no grounds to reject the project and then unanimously voted to approve.

Thanks to our church family for their unwavering support, to our professional team, to our building committee, and to our project coordinator, G.G. Kohlhagen. Special thanks to Pastor Ty for his leadership over the years with this project.

The annual meeting on Sunday, June 14 (1 PM at South Shores Church San Juan) will offer a great opportunity to hear more about the project and our next steps. It is TIME TO BUILD!
