Your Part, His Story

This week's message invites us into the profound truth that living in God's story through Jesus ensures His blessing, even when we face doubts. We encounter John the Baptist, the forerunner of Christ, wrestling with questions from prison about whether Jesus is truly the Messiah. His doubt reminds us that even the most faithful can question, and remarkably, Jesus doesn't rebuke John but instead points to the evidence of His ministry: the blind see, the lame walk, the dead are raised, and the poor hear good news. Jesus anchors His response in Isaiah's prophecies, revealing the trinity of truth, goodness, and beauty that marks authentic faith. We cannot pick and choose among these three; we need all of them. The cost of following Jesus is real, involving lost relationships, redirected resources, and surrendered autonomy, yet the fruit of walking in His story far outweighs any sacrifice. When we bring our doubts directly to Jesus rather than letting them fester, when we play our God-given role rather than writing our own script, we discover that His blessing surrounds us. The wisdom of following Christ is justified by the transformed lives it produces, lives that even the watching world must acknowledge as marked by extraordinary goodness and beauty.
