God's Faithfulness

Aug 16, 2026    Pastor Ron Cline

What does it truly mean to be faithful? Not just in the big, dramatic moments of life, but in the small, everyday promises we make to the people around us? This message takes us on a deeply personal journey through the fruit of the Spirit, zeroing in on faithfulness as something God has already planted inside each of us. Drawing from Proverbs, 1 John, and the words of Jesus himself, we are reminded that God has already looked at us and assumed we will be faithful. That is not a small thing. That is a calling. We explore three areas where faithfulness must take root: our commitments, our convictions, and our calling. From the casual promises we make and forget by the time we reach the parking lot, to the vows of weight and permanence we speak in life's most sacred moments, we are invited to honestly examine whether our words and our actions line up. Proverbs 12:22 tells us that God detests dishonest lips but delights in those who are trustworthy, and 1 John 2:5 connects keeping our word directly to the perfection of God's love being made visible in us. Faithfulness is not abstract. It is the friend we said we would call. It is the prayer we promised to pray. It is the promise we made sixty-seven years ago and finally kept. This is a message that challenges us to stop making silky smooth promises that mean nothing and start being people whose word actually means something.
